Shelley’s High Point Highlights
An international showcase of innovative design, we knew High Point - the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world would be an inspiring trip for our owner and Creative Director Shelley Boyd and so we couldn’t wait to ask how it went!
Definitely inspired by what was there, Shelley was excited by the beautifully merchandised Arteriors stand (usually always one of the best) which showcased some of their new lighting and accessories which were simply stunning.
Arteriors have branched out into larger furniture items and there was a fabulous brass and glass coffee table which Shelley loved and their new oversized 72” timber round mirror – her two favorites at Highpoint.
Honestly there is something for every taste and category at Highpoint, it can be overwhelming. I saw a lot of fantastic upholstery, lots of bold velvets in navy, emeralds and deep orange colours.
Brass and Bronze are still very prominent, lots of organic materials mixed back with golds and brass – with Green Malachite, Coloured Agates, Crystalles mixed with stone – saw some stunning dining, side and coffee tables with these stone tops. Petrified wood was quite prominent as well mixed back with nickel and brass frames.
There were some gorgeous shell pendants, mirrors, lamps, lots of oversized mirrors, lots of beautiful finishes like what we are using on some of our products – grass weave, faux shagreen and faux lizard.
There was lots of clad foil in brass, silver and gold – like on our hex stools and Koswari console. Basically we are right on trend with everything and it was great catching up with our suppliers”.
