The home is a fusion of British Colonial, Mediterranean and Art Deco styles complemented by bold contemporary features. A vibrant, expressive style she's coined as 'Caribbean Colonial'.
The Caribbean flavour sets the tone for a relaxed holiday vibe, which can be felt throughout the home. From the stunning colonial facade with its elegant shutters to its beautiful landscaping and swimming pool, the home exemplifies resort style living.
This project pays respect to British Colonial design featuring dark timber flooring & furniture, whitewashed walls, indoor plant campaign furniture and plantation shutters throughout. The British Colonial features have developed a rich sense of history, collection and curation.
Boyd Blue's bespoke furnishings complimented this design seamlessly. With some of our core pieces like the Clifton Console, Houghton Bed,& Lodge Dining chairs featured. It is clear to see that KWD's design ethos aligns, placing environmentally friendly, ethically sourced, sustainable products into her home.

Charlotte Park sits on a rolling hillside looking across a vast native forest to the lights of Sydney beyond. The setting is reminiscent of the landscape of Napa Valley in California, with its majestic views of the surrounding countryside. This, combined with the owners’ vision, was the starting reference for the transformation of this promising acreage into an exquisitely realised lifestyle property.
The home has been designed for generous family living across two levels, with soaring ceilings, luxurious finishes and traditional craftsmanship throughout. The layout of the spaces emphasises the home’s connection with its surroundings, and this, combined with the architectural palette gives, a sense of timelessness and belonging.

Andrew Waller established his boutique design practice in 2003. Specialising in interior architecture, and the design of interiors and furniture, his passion for craftsmanship imbues a sense of clear function, purity of material and meticulous attention to detail.
Graduating with a BA (Hons) Architecture from John Moores University Liverpool (UK), Mr Waller won the Art in Architecture prize for outstanding design concept and has received extensive industry recognition for his work alongside his loyal client base.
Andrew Waller stepped away from the city to create an oasis of old-world charm, timeless detail and classic finishes in his Hunter Hill Project.
The Peninsula’s old-world charm was the inspiration for the project, with creativity being drawn from where Lane Cove and the Parramatta river meets. This is where the refurbishment of this beautiful waterfront home began.
The home was built in the late 1990s on the footprint of the previous 1930s home, Mr Waller’s goal was to reconstruct 20 years of family living. While taking a bespoke approach to joinery and meticulous attention detail with the use of marble and limestone finishes, paired with brass and bronze fittings.
We were provided a quick yet very rewarding conversation with Andrew Waller, He explained in detail his favourite element of the Hunter Hill Project.
Andrew: The project included several key design elements which were used to define the various spaces throughout the interior. One of our favourite pieces are the large pair of cabinets within the formal lounge, either side of the original fireplace (previously a pair of windows – with shutters fitted to conceal the side of house view).
The new design features a pair of bespoke cabinets with washed blue interior & linen sheer blinds to the rear. (The cabinets are designed with operable doors – allowing the client to close off the display shelving for a cleaner aesthetic during the winter months). The interior fitted with deep shelves creates a display space for our client’s decorative pieces –back lit by day with the soft light filtered through the linen blind.
We cannot help but agree with Andrew on this one. The stunning cabinets are filled with some of our favourite Boyd Blue pieces, aren’t they displayed to perfection. We are in love! Pieces included- Emmerson Sculpture, Singita Sculpture, Gerti Round Container and Edgar Decanter.
Andrew also touched on the Entry Hall, it’s another space he particularly enjoyed creating.
Andrew: The space was redefined – removing a low rendered (solid) wall, replacing it with a light weight steel & timber balustrade – allowing an uninterrupted view to the Parramatta River (which the garden backs onto).
Hotel lobby design was referenced with the use of the large round table with lantern pendant light above – to anchor the space.
The handsome table in mahogany with brass detailing (Baxter dining table from the Boyd Blue range) has an aged / subtle hammered surface treatment which ties back with some of the clients existing antique pieces. The table greets guests on arrival – acting as a view point to draw you into the inner hallway. Again the table acts as a display surface for some of our clients favourite collectables – display with seasonal flowers.
As we scroll through the images of the Hunter Hill project we can’t help but feel joy, spotting Boyd Blue products in such a wonderful light is why we love what we do. Congratulations Andrew Waller, the Hunter Hills project is magnificently put together.

LOCATION: Melbourne, Australia
YEAR: 2022
TYPE OF PROJECT: Bowen Cresent Project
DESCRIPTION:
Amelia Barry Interiors is a Melbourne practice launched in 2018, we have collaborated with clients on a range of residential projects in Melbourne and regional Victoria, designing homes and spaces that are designed to be a true reflection of the clients and the lives they lead. Amelia principals a small team, ensuring that every detail of every aspect is taken care of, for a calm and seamless experience for clients from start to finish. Late last year we had clients purchase this beautiful Bowen Crescent apartment and engage us to enhance the space. They wanted the apartment to feel cosy and warm and be inviting for family and friends. We worked to renovate the rooms to add this sense of comfort and of course the soft furnishing selection was equally important to achieve this. We focused on the use of contrast through colour to distinguish spaces and the use decorative lighting to bring warmth.

For the last 5 years, New York’s Ovadia Design Group has built its brand by creating interiors that exude the highest level of decorative excellence.
With so much emphasis on the details of each project, it’s easy to see ODG founder Jack Ovadia’s roots in architecture.
Jack’s bachelors in architecture eventually led him to fall more and more in love with layouts, interiors and decors. Before he knew it, an interior design job done as a favor for a cousin evolved into an award-winning business in New York City with eight full-time staff members.
A pair of Berti Pendants flank a comfortable king in this beautiful bedroom installation.
Today, ODG focuses on designing environments that are self-expressed to every client’s specific style and needs – from residential homes and luxury apartments to offices and retail stores. The company strives to create a unique brand for each client.
“We’re not designing for anyone but the client,” says Jack. “We look at each project as a 2 to 3 year marriage with each client.”
Just like any relationship in its infancy, there’s a feeling out process with ODG and its clients – gathering images through photo streams, sharing favorite designs and understanding the client’s passions in other forms of art.
Clients have tasked Jack and his team with bringing the style from pop culture pieces like Sex in the City, The Great Gatsby and the W Hotel in Miami to their own spaces.
A classically inspired space is topped with the Royalton Chandelier.
“Designing should be expressive, innovative and pressure free – that’s why we spend time getting to know each client and understanding their style and look.”
By incorporating this deep level of individuality, ODG blends classic, custom and contemporary components to create harmonious and timeless spaces.
“Beauty is in the details,” reads OvadiaDesign.com. “From choosing the perfect color pallets to highlighting the architecture of a room, every project is done with the utmost precision.”
Jack counts Design, Quality and Customer Service as the three cornerstones in a successful design project.
It’s this same uniqueness and commitment to quality that makes Arteriors the perfect match for ODG.
“Arteriors has its classics, but it’s always evolving,” remarks Jack.
“Each piece tells a story.”
Perfect for offices, bars and high-end retail spaces, Jack tabs the Calvin as his go-to - recently using the rugged, but high-end stools in an outerwear showroom installation in Manhattan.
“The quality really adds a next-level wow factor to each product,” says Jack.
Designing with a similar standard of excellence and quality is the driving force behind Jack and his company. At ODG, the bar is set high and they settle for nothing less than perfection.
Earthy tones, textured elements & personalised details combine to create soothing interiors that make this three-storey Federation property feel like home.
