  • Hamilton Conte Preview 2017 Collection at Maison Objet

    Friday, September 30, 2016

In avant-première of its 2017 visual image, Hamilton Conte have shared
a few of their latest products at the September Maison & Objet Paris.

Hamilton Conte’s creations are typically inspired by 20th century
lines and particularly by the 1970s.

For the September presentations at Maison & Objet Paris,
the brand has brought in elements of the Art Deco and Orientalist movements.
The fluid lines of their products combine with more geometric and
decidedly Art Deco elements, as well as the exotic.

The PEACOCK GATE of the City Palace of Jaipur in India served notably
as inspiration for the patterns and colours of the textiles used.

Finally, the brand has departed from its more
traditionally neutral canvas to integrate high colour.

The presentation spaces at Maison & Objet were also completely renewed
with Art Deco-inspired dividers as well as a totally new layout.

“As in each Maison & Objet presentation,
I try to show the Hamilton Conte brand and its product range from another angle.
This time, I was inspired by this door in India,
which I found both joyous and atypical.
That allowed me both to bring together different styles and also to play with colours
    - blue and green being my special favourites for quite some time.
My challenge was to find some sort of harmony in this diverse palette
as well as to add in touches of orange,”
Fabian Pellegrinet Conte,  Artistic Director of the brand.

  • Arteriors and Skyline Exhibit at Prestigious International Trade Shows

    Friday, May 06, 2016

    X
Our internationally-renowned brands, Arteriors and Skyline Design, recently showcased their beautiful product at two of the most influential trade shows in the world: High Point Market and Salone del Mobile.

    THE INSIDE SCOOP FROM ARTERIORS:

Every year Arteriors exhibit at the bi-annual High Point Market events and showcase their inspiring new introductions for the season.

At the recent High Point Market in April, Arteriors launched their three BIG themes for Spring 2016: White & Gold, Silver Linings and Curves for Days.

In lieu of a guest designer at the Spring market, the showroom included the debut of ‘The Salon’. Featuring the Royalton Lamp, Lucia Chair, Connaught Bar Cart and Hugo Ottoman, among others, ‘The Salon’ showcased the understated elegance that embodies urban glamour.

Gilded finishes, soft fabrics, and luxe marble collide to reveal a sumptuous palette that is formal and feminine. It’s luxurious, but totally livable. Layered, yet clean. These subtle paradoxes helped create a compelling space that displayed how transitional the Arteriors collection can be.

A simple search of #Arteriors on Instagram can give you a quick taste of the items that caught the eye of Market attendees – in particular the new Turner Sofa, along with the ‘Style Spotted’ Dallas Chandelier, Wade Lamp, Fitzgerald Accent Table.

    THE INSIDE SCOOP FROM SKYLINE:

Skyline Design has just returned from exhibiting at one of the most important dates in the furniture industry, Salone del Mobile in Milan.

More than 30,000 people attended the trade show, where Skyline launched its new catalogue and exciting new product designs.

Commencing in January, Skyline have been on an international roadshow, showcasing its luxury outdoor furniture range and launching the exciting new catalogue.

Skyline has been on display at some of the most influential trade events across the globe, including: Maison Objet Paris, Valencia Fair, Bali Hospitality Show, Jakarta IFEX Show, CIFF Guangzhou in China, High Point Market, Las Vegas Hospitality Design Expo and Index Show in Dubai.

Some of the stunning new products launching at these trade events are the Geometric daybed designed by Belen Burguete and the Pob living set, a Noel Royo's design.

Keep an eye out for these pieces in the new catalogue coming soon!

  • Inspiring Tales from an International Sourcing Trip

    Thursday, February 04, 2016
    .

Our Creative Director, Shelley Boyd, has spent the past month on a whirlwind, yet incredibly inspiring trip, travelling from the freezing cold and snowy conditions in Germany to the beautiful sunshine in Jaipur, India.

Shelley visited some of Europe’s most prestigious trade shows: Heimtextil in Frankfurt, Domotext in Hannover, IMM Furniture Fair in Cologne, MAISON&OBJET Paris and Déco Off in Paris, and finishing with a visit to the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre in London, Europe’s premier interior design centre.

Attending MAISON&OBJET Paris was arguably the highlight of Shelley’s time in Europe, and she left feeling incredibly inspired by the stunning product on display and trends forecast for 2016.

Here are some of Shelley’s observations from MAISON&OBJET Paris:

Rich colours are in! Orange, purple, navy, chartreuse, peacock and teal were all prominent, from rich coloured throws and cushions, rich velvets on upholstery, and rich coloured glassware.

Furniture with Marble or Mixed Metals like brass and bronze are right on trend. Curved and organic shapes like the armchairs below are also on trend. Classic upholstered pieces and Deep Diamond Buttoning are another big trend to watch out for (think our White Furniture Design collection), as well as transitional and 3 dimensional furniture like our Boyd Rockefeller Unit.

Raw and organic accessories are still very much on trend; expect to see a lot of timber and bone picture frames, mixed metal hurricanes and votives in the coming months.

Shelley has also been on a quick but prosperous trip around India, visiting several of our talented artisans and sourcing pieces for the Boyd and Boyd Rugs 2016 collections.
The highlight from her time in India was discovering an array of gorgeous rugs and selecting new designs for Boyd Rugs.
Shelley and our product development team were also lucky enough to enjoy a magical morning watching the sun rise over the Ganges River.
