  • Celebrating our Client's Projects in 2015

    Saturday, December 05, 2015
2015 has been a phenomenal year for Boyd Blue, but we wouldn't be celebrating these successes without the constant support of our loyal clients.
Here are a few inspiring projects from our client's in 2015.

Creating Style – Brisbane Residential Project

With only a short timeframe, Sally's brief was to transform the dated lounge/dining room into a a classic, contemporary space with an electric twist!

Sally sourced beautiful pieces of furniture and soft furnishings for the space from Boyd Blue.

The high quality craftsmanship of the Boyd Buffet, Coffee Table, Side Table and stunning Mirror added depth and layers to the room to create a very special outcome!

DF Interiors – Alex Perry Hotel & Apartments

The brief for Alex Perry's (much celebrated fashion designer) venture into the hotel industry was couture lifestyle meets playful intelligent design.

Alex Perry was seeking to recreate the glamour of the great hotels of the world, with an elegantly restrained palette setting the backdrop for lush interior styling.

The high quality, striking pieces from Boyd Blue, such as the Adele Pendant, Simpson Armchair and Lyon Lounger, were a perfect fit for the luxe and glamour of Alex Perry Hotel & Apartments.

Marina Hirst Interiors – Brisbane Renovation Project

Loving the Boyd Blue aesthetic and style, the client's brief was for a warm and loving family home that stands the test of time!

Marina sourced and custom made all furniture, including many pieces from Arteriors, Boyd and White Furniture Design.

The clients were delighted with the classic and sophisticated result, and were particularly delighted with the finer details.

Barnes & Barnes Design Collective  - Cub Network

Forming an alliance of Sydney's most innovative business minds, Cub Network has been developed to accelerate the success of its members in a luxurious business space.

The brief for the Club Lounge was to create a sophisticated, classic and comfortable space with a contemporary twist.

The classic contemporary nature of White Furniture Design and Boyd furnishings made them an obvious choice for this project.

These pieces have provided an opulent feel to the Club Lounge with the utmost comfort for members to relax in and host informal meetings.

  • Interview with Charcoal Interiors

Wednesday, May 01, 2013 With nearly 40 years combined experience, Colette & Cathie Venardos have refined the art of exquisite design. Their Brisbane based design studio, Charcoal Interiors, is a mecca for beautiful product and expert advice. We sat down with the clever duo to find out what they are coveting in 2013:

    1. How would you describe your style?

We don’t necessarily like putting ourselves into a particular box our design doctrine depends on the architecture of the building and lifestyle. We love authenticity in our projects and also adore good design and quality pieces.

    2. What trends are you seeing in furniture and homewares in 2013?

Excellence in design and style. Combining good quality pieces transcends trend. Trends come and go, but good design never goes out of style.

    3. What are your clients all asking for in their home at the moment?
We are finding that currently there are a lot of new clients contacting us who have tried to ‘do it themselves’ without a pleasing result. Our clients have been asking for balance, warmth, texture and creating an individual oasis that they will want to come home to at night time...whilst also creating the wow factor.

    4. Must have furniture piece for 2013? Why?

The Boyd Trojan Table...good textural elements...versatile and fits in well with all kinds of architecture. It’s a great size, interesting unique piece that’s really eye catching promoting the ‘wow’ factor that we embody.

  • Stunning Waters Edge Project, West End

    Friday, June 01, 2012

Elyce Norton, of PPS shows us her Moroccan themed display apartments for Pradella Constructions at Waters Edge, West End. Here Elyce shares her thoughts on the project

“I had the luxury of not having a particular brief to follow and a realistic budget which enabled me to customize this job and create a really individual style. I searched for unique pieces such as the bone inlay buffet and the crystalline dining table, which tied in perfectly as a contrast to the feature timber walls.

Using exciting patterns, some colour and texture in the fabric, rugs and artwork helped created visual interest in the room. The wall art and many of the accessories are from Boyd, the stunning art in the living room is by the Designer Boys, while I sourced Bandhini scatters and Hip Home Luxury rugs.

And finally, I would have to say the Boyd antique mirrors used as a cluster in the dining room are an absolute winner. They really create a talking point in the room and are a fun alternative to normal artwork.

Thank you for allowing me to share this with you”, Elyce Norton
