  • Our Head Office & Warehouse are Relocating

    Friday, September 09, 2016

We are excited to announce that we are moving our operations to a new 4000 sqm site in Ormeau QLD, combining all administration and warehouse in a centralised location.

This relocation will position us to deliver you, our valued clients an improved after sales delivery service with the larger premises enabling more efficient quality control on orders and a streamlined delivery process with all items being despatched from a single warehouse location, considerably reducing delivery times for in-stock items.

Our new headquarters’ address is 15 Blanck Street, Ormeau, QLD, 4208; and the new contact number is (07) 5549 0722.
The relocation has also presented us with the opportunity to repurpose our existing Ashmore premises. We are thrilled to re-establish an inspiring trade showroom that will open on 15 September, giving local designers exclusive access to our collections on the Gold Coast again.

We are also opening a clearance outlet to the general public from 23 September, where end-of-line and floor stock will be available for purchase. We are offering our trade clients, exclusive access to the clearance outlet for one week, before opening to the public. This is an exciting opportunity that will enable us to move on end of line ranges allowing us to further expand our current range of in demand collections.

The trade showroom and clearance outlet will be open 8:30am - 5:00pm weekdays. The existing office number for Ashmore, (07) 5527 0899, will be retained for use by the showroom and outlet.

Your ongoing support and patience is appreciated whilst we make this transition. It is an exciting milestone in the Boyd Blue story and one that positions us well for the future.

    Yours sincerely,
    Shelley and the team

  • Arteriors and Skyline Exhibit at Prestigious International Trade Shows

    Friday, May 06, 2016

    X
Our internationally-renowned brands, Arteriors and Skyline Design, recently showcased their beautiful product at two of the most influential trade shows in the world: High Point Market and Salone del Mobile.

    THE INSIDE SCOOP FROM ARTERIORS:

Every year Arteriors exhibit at the bi-annual High Point Market events and showcase their inspiring new introductions for the season.

At the recent High Point Market in April, Arteriors launched their three BIG themes for Spring 2016: White & Gold, Silver Linings and Curves for Days.

In lieu of a guest designer at the Spring market, the showroom included the debut of ‘The Salon’. Featuring the Royalton Lamp, Lucia Chair, Connaught Bar Cart and Hugo Ottoman, among others, ‘The Salon’ showcased the understated elegance that embodies urban glamour.

Gilded finishes, soft fabrics, and luxe marble collide to reveal a sumptuous palette that is formal and feminine. It’s luxurious, but totally livable. Layered, yet clean. These subtle paradoxes helped create a compelling space that displayed how transitional the Arteriors collection can be.

A simple search of #Arteriors on Instagram can give you a quick taste of the items that caught the eye of Market attendees – in particular the new Turner Sofa, along with the ‘Style Spotted’ Dallas Chandelier, Wade Lamp, Fitzgerald Accent Table.

    THE INSIDE SCOOP FROM SKYLINE:

Skyline Design has just returned from exhibiting at one of the most important dates in the furniture industry, Salone del Mobile in Milan.

More than 30,000 people attended the trade show, where Skyline launched its new catalogue and exciting new product designs.

Commencing in January, Skyline have been on an international roadshow, showcasing its luxury outdoor furniture range and launching the exciting new catalogue.

Skyline has been on display at some of the most influential trade events across the globe, including: Maison Objet Paris, Valencia Fair, Bali Hospitality Show, Jakarta IFEX Show, CIFF Guangzhou in China, High Point Market, Las Vegas Hospitality Design Expo and Index Show in Dubai.

Some of the stunning new products launching at these trade events are the Geometric daybed designed by Belen Burguete and the Pob living set, a Noel Royo's design.

Keep an eye out for these pieces in the new catalogue coming soon!

  • Inspiring Tales from an International Sourcing Trip

    Thursday, February 04, 2016
    .

Our Creative Director, Shelley Boyd, has spent the past month on a whirlwind, yet incredibly inspiring trip, travelling from the freezing cold and snowy conditions in Germany to the beautiful sunshine in Jaipur, India.

Shelley visited some of Europe’s most prestigious trade shows: Heimtextil in Frankfurt, Domotext in Hannover, IMM Furniture Fair in Cologne, MAISON&OBJET Paris and Déco Off in Paris, and finishing with a visit to the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre in London, Europe’s premier interior design centre.

Attending MAISON&OBJET Paris was arguably the highlight of Shelley’s time in Europe, and she left feeling incredibly inspired by the stunning product on display and trends forecast for 2016.

Here are some of Shelley’s observations from MAISON&OBJET Paris:

Rich colours are in! Orange, purple, navy, chartreuse, peacock and teal were all prominent, from rich coloured throws and cushions, rich velvets on upholstery, and rich coloured glassware.

Furniture with Marble or Mixed Metals like brass and bronze are right on trend. Curved and organic shapes like the armchairs below are also on trend. Classic upholstered pieces and Deep Diamond Buttoning are another big trend to watch out for (think our White Furniture Design collection), as well as transitional and 3 dimensional furniture like our Boyd Rockefeller Unit.

Raw and organic accessories are still very much on trend; expect to see a lot of timber and bone picture frames, mixed metal hurricanes and votives in the coming months.

Shelley has also been on a quick but prosperous trip around India, visiting several of our talented artisans and sourcing pieces for the Boyd and Boyd Rugs 2016 collections.
The highlight from her time in India was discovering an array of gorgeous rugs and selecting new designs for Boyd Rugs.
Shelley and our product development team were also lucky enough to enjoy a magical morning watching the sun rise over the Ganges River.

  • Upcoming Trends from High Point Market

    Tuesday, May 05, 2015

In mid-April our Founding Director, Shelley Boyd, went on her annual trip to the United States for the trade show experience like no other, High Point Market.

Over 75,000 people visit Greensboro, North Carolina, twice a year for the largest home furnishings trade show in the world. Exhibitors at High Point are renowned for not only forecasting the upcoming design trends, but offering an inspiring hub for design enthusiasts to congregate from around the world.

After attending the Spring market over 18-23 April 2015, Shelley returned to Head Office feeling inspired and buzzing with ideas.

As national distributors of the Arteriors brand, Shelley also had the privilege of seeing the amazing new product range first-hand, as well as spending some quality time with the team.

The beautiful saucer pendants hanging behind Shelley is the latest and very cool Remus Pendant.

While feeling inspired and fascinated by all of the amazing products, brands and designers on showcase at High Point, it was the stunning exhibits by Arteriors, Skyline Design and Julian Chichester that stood out to Shelley.

Upcoming design trends to look out for in this coming year:
    (as seen at High Point)

    ART DECO

Metals are still going to be huge! Whether its mixed metals, mixture of materials and finishes, or metals mixed with minerals like agates and geodes. Expect to see a lot of brass, bronze, copper, nickel and stainless in the Boyd Blue Showrooms.

    CONCENTRIC CIRCLES

We’ve always loved the circular look at Boyd, but this was also a popular trend at High Point. Watch out for this look in round mirrors, designs with rings, as well as layering of rings and circles.

Get the look now with our Lanyard and Centurion Mirrors!

    COLOURS

Pops of colour are going to be a massive trend, this look was everywhere at High Point. In particular, blues, greens, teals and navy tones (just what we love at Boyd). Mohair velvet is also right on trend, in fact all the colours from our Boyd velvet range were on display. Contrast piping on furniture and coloured lacquer furniture were also a stand out look.

    TIMBER

There was some lovely timber furniture on display at High Point, with great timber colours and wood grain going in all directions. Watch out for unique timber styles.

    FEATHERS

Feathers have remained on trend, appearing in a range of designs and products. Think sub straights/materials from wall art, cast in metal, on fabrics, wall paper and event stuffed birds!

    GLAMOUR

The glamour/luxury/sophisticated looks were everywhere, and another trend to watch out for; this look is very feminine and styled with colours such as pink and blush, mixed with brass and gold.

    Clockwise from left:

Shelley with the brilliantly talented, Julian Chichester and his international sales manager, Michael Schleuse.

Taking it all in at Julian Chichester’s beautiful showroom.
